McConaughey, Sullivan and Kondo
by Mike Bossy
Yesterday I completed Matthew McConaughey’s biography called “Greenlights”. That is the first time I ever read a complete book in one day. I couldn’t put it down, my journal filling with insights, thinking about my thinking and action steps. The following McConaughey quote led me to think about other authors:
“When you can, ask yourself if you want to before you do”.
When we collect things in our lives, we should ask if they brings us joy? This was described by Marie Condo in her book “The Life Changing-Magic of Tidying Up”.
In his book, Wanting What You Want, Dan Sullivan, co-founder of Strategic Coach writes about never having to explain a want. When someone asks why you did that; or why did you buy that, the answer is I wanted it; or I wanted to. It requires no explanation.
I have been giving a lot of thought to the interaction and inter-relation of these ideas.
